Sunrise Shines a Spotlight on Bathurst from Mount Panorama/Wahluu

Bathurst was in the national spotlight when Sunrise crossed live from Mount Panorama/Wahluu, showcasing the region to viewers across Australia.

With one of Bathurst’s most recognisable landmarks as the backdrop, the live weather crosses gave viewers a glimpse of the people, places and experiences that make the Bathurst region such a special place to visit.

Throughout the morning, Sunrise connected with local tourism operators and personalities, sharing some of the stories and experiences waiting to be discovered across the region.

Local stories in the spotlight

Among those featured was Jill Grady from award-winning RedGround Australia, highlighting one of the region’s distinctive local food and farm experiences.

And there was one local star who certainly made an impression, Quick the dog, showing off his truffle-finding talents and even sneezing on command.

Brad Owen, Manager of the National Motor Racing Museum, joined the broadcast from Mount Panorama, home to one of Australia’s most famous racing circuits and an essential stop for motorsport fans visiting Bathurst.

Viewers were also introduced to Jhob Drinkwater from History Hill Museum & Underground Mine, offering a taste of the fascinating gold-mining history that can be discovered just a short drive from Bathurst.
