The Wahluu 1,000
December 12 All day

On Saturday 12 December 2026, the community will come together at the iconic Mount Panorama/Wahluu in Bathurst for the inaugural Wahluu 1,000 – a unique endurance and community event with one ambitious goal: collectively complete 1,000 kilometres around the Mountain in a single day.
Participants can walk or run and take on the challenge as an individual, duo, team of four or workplace team, with every kilometre contributing towards the community’s 1,000km target.
But Wahluu 1,000 is about much more than kilometres.
Created by Central West not-for-profit The Amend Project, the event brings together physical health, mental health, suicide prevention and community connection in an environment that is positive, active and accessible.
Throughout the day, Mount Panorama will come alive with participants, families, local health and wellbeing services, community organisations, recovery activities and a dedicated family area. A free community lap will also provide an opportunity for anyone to walk the Mountain, connect with others and be part of the event without entering the endurance challenge.
Whether you’re chasing a personal challenge, getting a team of mates together, representing your workplace or sporting club, supporting someone you care about, or simply coming along for the community lap, there is a place for you at Wahluu 1,000.
Our vision is to establish Wahluu 1,000 as an annual Central West event that brings people together through movement, connection and conversations that matter.
