Discover Boundary Road Reserve

Located close to Mount Panorama and only 5 minutes from the Bathurst CBD is the significant public open space of the Boundary Road Reserve.

The Reserve covers approximately 80 hectares of Box Gum Grassy Woodland, an endangered ecological community, containing one of the last, and the largest, remnants of Yellow Box and Blakely’s Red Gum Grassy Woodland close to the city. The Reserve has also been recognised as a splendid spot for bird-watching with sightings of over 90 species recorded including such threatened species as the Regent Honey Eater and Speckled Warbler.

Easy walking tracks run through the Reserve which also contains a number of kangaroos and Australian native animals. Entry is through the Vietnam Veteran’s Park

Bathurst is fortunate to have such a beautiful and accessible conservation reserve so close to the city. Volunteer groups such as the Boundary Road Reserve Landcare Group work hard to restore degraded areas and ensure that this special area may continue to provide habitat and be an area to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
