Although its location classifies Bathurst as a regional town, you’d be wrong to assume that the city can’t provide even the fussiest of shoppers with a dose of retail therapy. There are three major shopping centres - Stocklands, Bathurst Chase and Bathurst City Centre – but if it is more bespoke and made-in-Bathurst items you’re after, explore the main streets and visit the Bathurst Showground on market day.

The Bathurst Region Farmer's Market is held at the Bathurst Showground on the fourth Saturday of each month, 8am to 12 noon. This is where the locals shop for food, plants and value-added produce directly from the grower/maker. Providers sell everything the region has to offer, including fresh meat, cheese, fruit, vegetables and plants.
The Bathurst Wholefood Cooperative was established in November 2011 in response to requests from locals to be able to purchase local and organic foods more regularly than the monthly farmer's market and to provide a market for produce generated by the local farming community. A purchase here supports the local farmers, and provides you with locally grown, farm fresh produce.
