Once a major site of the gold rush now the Turon river is an ideal location for camping, stargazing, fishing, gold panning and weekend camping getaways. With 5 free campsites to choose from there is no shortage of sites to choose from. While staying on public free camping reserves please keep in mind other campers, locals and the environment. Keep in mind a leave no traces mind set, stick to established road and official reserves, remove all rubbish and ensure that you fully extinguish all fires before leaving the site.
