Rock Forest Vineyard is a cool climate vineyard perched high on an outcrop of spectacular granite country west of Bathurst. The vineyard has been developed since 2008 with the help of family and friends. The vines are grown sustainably with minimal use of chemicals. The soil is granite sand with little organic matter but has improved over the years by the addition of composted grass cuttings and horse manure. The grapes, which include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, are hand picked and fermented on site with minimal intervention. There is a monthly cellar door on the first Sunday of each month or by appointment.
