Embrace the Chill

5 minute read.

Your ultimate short getaway for the Winter School Holidays is just over the mountains, but not far away.

Experience the thrill, and the chill of the Bathurst Winter Festival. Held 2 – 17 July, and back in full swing.

Enjoy carnival rides and the McDonald’s Bathurst Ice Skating Rink every day during the festival at the Winter Playground in Kings Parade, and wander through the illumination trail with awe-inspiring light and sound projections on the Bathurst CBD’s iconic heritage buildings after sundown each night.

There is something for everyone, with mulled wine, craft beer and local food trucks on offer for the Charles Sturt University Brew & Bite event on 8th and 9th July. Think ‘European night-markets during a Northern-Hemisphere winter’ vibes.

Kid’s Day is where young ones will have exclusive access to the Winter Playground on 6 and 13 July.

The LiveBetter Accessibility Day opens up the ice rink to all abilities.

And show off your four legged friend in their favourite winter costume on Pet Day, 17 July.

For dinner and a show, don’t miss the program of local musicians performing live at various venues around town.

A bit of house keeping, tickets are required to set sessions for the Ice Skating, so find out all you need to know and more at the official Bathurst Winter Festival website.
