Bathurst and surrounds offers a vast array of recreational, leisure and cultural activities available throughout the year, with the most prominent being the Bathurst V8 Supercars on Mount Panorama. Although this initially put Bathurst on the map, Bathurst has much more on offer for a variety of interests.

You can get back to nature making use of the regions excellent landscapes for bushwalks and hiking and take advantage of camping facilities available throughout the region. Staying with the great outdoors, just 15 minutes from Bathurst is Chifley Dam, which acts as Bathurst's water supply and boasts great recreation facilities and cabins for those summer getaways. Chifley Dam is a must for those into water skiing and other water sports.

Being Australia's oldest inland settlement, Bathurst has had an exciting and colourful history, which can be explored at leisure throughout the museums and galleries on offer, or with a walking tour throughout the city itself.
