Join former Jenolan Caves tour guide, Michael Burge, for a conversation on his new book The Watchnight. Michael will be in conversation with Central West author Cadance Bell.
Michael is a journalist, author, publisher and artist.
His debut novel Tank Water, and its sequel Dirt Trap, are a rural noir storytelling cycle about homophobia and justice in the bush. Michael’s new novel The Watchnight is a gothic crime thriller set at Australia’s Jenolan Caves in the 1850s.
Michael worked in Bathurst and the Blue Mountains for many years and is an experienced speaker. The Watchnight covers topics such as crime, colonialism, religion, LGBTQ+ and more.
