While most are winding down at the end of the year, Bathurst closes out the year with a host of activity to celebrate the start of summer and the lead in to the silly season.
Local and national musicians and artists flock to the Bathurst for Central NSW's very own Coachella-inspired music and arts festival, Inland Sea of Sound Festival. Staged on a section of Mount Panorama usually inaccessible to the public, the event brings together the best talent across music and arts, as well as local providores, in a two-day celebration. An important springboard for homegrown acts looking to make their mark on the music industry, you'll be introduced to some new sounds as well as familiar names from the Australian music biz.
Contemporary tunes will then make way for Christmas carols as the silly season kicks into full swing. ‘A Traditional Night Before Christmas' at Miss Traill’s House and Garden, offers carol singing and Christmas activities for the kids, while Bathurst Outdoor Expo and Christmas Markets brings together a wide variety of exhibitors so you can get your stocking fillers and Christmas treats under the one roof.
- Inland Sea of Sound, aka the Central West's version of Coachella, is a two-day event jam packed with local musicians and top Australian artists all performing on top of Australia’s most famous race track, Mount Panorama.
- Miss Traill’s House and Garden will be adorned with Christmas decorations for ‘A Traditional Night Before Christmas’. Celebrate the holiday season at the heritage house museum with live music, traditional Christmas carols and loads of family activities.
- The Sofala District & Agricultural Show showcases the region’s country life with the best arts and crafts, produce and livestock. Wander through the exhibition stalls to see antique machinery on display, while animal lovers can snuggle with the cutest farm animals at the nursery.
