Hands on workshop: looking after your heritage home
Free workshops are being held in Millthorpe and Carcoar in June to assist owners to develop practical conservation skills and prepare maintenance and repair plans for their heritage listed properties.
Hosted by TAFE NSW and Blayney Shire’s Heritage Advisor, these practical workshops will provide you with skills to identify and treat common heritage building issues such as rising damp, damaged brickwork and exposed timber windows.
You will be guided through developing a maintenance and repair plan for your heritage property and receive a take home booklet to plan your own home maintenance schedule.
These workshops are offered as part of the Millthorpe School of Arts & Carcoar Hospital Museum restoration project supported by the NSW Government through Heritage Near Me program.
Owners and managers of local heritage items in the Blayney Shire Council area are encouraged to attend, including private home owners, local businesses, community organisations and local government asset managers.
The workshops are free to attend but limited places are available. A workshop will be run in both Millthorpe and Carcoar.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day.
