COVID-19 and Bathurst Region
Bathurst Regional Council is following advice on COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from the state and federal health departments and is closely monitoring developments and assessing potential impact. Non-essential static gatherings of 100 people or more indoors, or 500 people or more outdoors (i.e. where people are in close proximity for extended periods of time) have been banned effective from Wednesday 18 March 2020. These measures do not apply to shopping centres or public transport or other essential services which continue to operate.
The NSW and Federal Governments have both directed that there is to be no non-essential travel. This includes any recreational travel, and Bathurst Regional Council also endorses this directive. Travel within NSW will resume from 1 June 2020.
The region looks forward to welcoming you as soon as is is possible to do so, but joins in asking everyone currently to heed the best expert advice and STAY HOME to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
