Autumn in Bathurst

Unfortunately almost all activities have had to be either postponed or cancelled over the autumn period due to the necessary public health and safety restrictions relating to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak. We are sincerely hoping that some of these activities will return in later 2020, whilst we are working on bringing others to you in a different way as soon as we can! In the meantime, read on below for a flavour of our standard annual activities to whet the appetite for next time around... ♥♥♥

Top things to do in Bathurst in autumn? Step back in time and learn about some of the lost trades and crafts that literally built Bathurst at the Bathurst Heritage Trades Trail.  Meet some of the region's most talented artisans and watch on as they demo some of the rare trades from yesteryear such as blacksmithing, scything, embroidery, dry walling. Take a ride on a Cobb & Co Coach, grab a 'selfie with a kelpie' and go inside some of the town's amazing heritage buildings not usually open to the public. And the exploration of Bathurst's cultural heritage continues with the Autumn Colours Heritage Tours, a variety of tours and activities that take you behind the scenes of the stories and characters of the Bathurst Region.

For fitness fanatics, challenge your endurance in the Bathurst Cycling Classic and Bathurst Half Marathon & 10KM.

  • The Bathurst Cycling Classic has been dubbed the “Cycling Miracle of NSW” by Bicycling Australia Magazine and incorporates several events across two days; Criterium Racing, Hill Climb Championships and the much anticipated B2B (Bathurst to Bathurst) with all new courses starting and finishing in the Bathurst CBD. The Bathurst Cycling Classic B2B has been confirmed on the UCI calendar as part of the 2020 UCI Gran Fondo World Series. With the inclusion of The Village located in the Bathurst CBD, the Bathurst Cycling Classic offers you a cycling experience you’ll want to return to.
  • Rediscover all the rare and lost trades and crafts and go inside some of Bathurst's heritage buildings over one weekend on the Bathurst Heritage Trade Trail.
  • There’s no better way to explore a new destination than on your own two feet, so lace up and take on the Bathurst Half Marathon & 10KM.
