History of the Carillon
A short documentary that will take you inside one of Bathurst's most iconic landmarks, the Bathurst District Soldier's Memorial Carillon.
Constructed in 1933 as a memorial to the people of the Bathurst Region who served in WWI, and a place of remembrance for the people who served in all conflicts of the succeeding century.
The ongoing respect of the Bathurst community for the structure justifies the hope of those who financed and constructed it that, as the National Advocate stated in an edition of 18 June 1929;
It will ever remain as a concrete symbol of the appreciation of the present generation, of those it is their privilege to honour.
