SUMMARY:Puppetry Of Paper Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Come and join the amazing Jenny from Little Wing Puppets in your very own puppet making workshop. \nScrunch\, rip\, twist\, tear! \nHow many things can you do with a piece of paper? This workshop is based on Bunraku-style puppetry\, a traditional Japanese form of theatre which involves multiple puppeteers working closely together to operate one puppet. Workshop participants will start by making a unique puppet out of paper. \nThey will then learn techniques for bringing their puppet to life\, either as individuals or as a team. Each group will work on short performances which are presented to the group. \nParticipants will leave the workshop with a range of performance skills\, which can be applied to any kind of puppetry. \nLittle Wing Puppets have facilitated workshops with thousands of young people in every state and territory of Australia\, as well as overseas. They believe that young people deserve access to the arts\, wherever they live. They’re passionate about passing on their skills so that children can learn to create their own worlds through puppetry. \nRecommended ages 3 years and up.* Parents and carers are encouraged to participate. Children ages 6 years and under need to be accompanied by an adult.

SUMMARY:All Fools' Ball
DESCRIPTION:Dress up in your best swing dance outfit\, put on your dancing shoes and party like it’s 1946!\n\nTo celebrate 150 years since the railway arrived in Bathurst\, the Bathurst Rail Museum is inviting the community to dance the night away with the Mitchell Conservatoriums CONnections Big Band at the All Fools’ Ball.\n\nThe All Fools’ Ball was a popular event in Bathurst\, traditionally held around April Fools Day in various locations over the years. For the Bathurst railway community\, it was a great opportunity to socialise. The venue for the evening – the Railway Institute\, home to the Bathurst Rail Museum – was for learning the trades of the railway\, but it was also a community hub for dances\, sports and other social activities.\n\n “The Railway Institute certainly knows how to put some kick into its social events\, as was exemplified at their All Fools Ball…”\n -National Advocate\, 10 October 1936

SUMMARY:BMEC ON-SCREEN John Cleese Packs It In
DESCRIPTION:1 85-year-old Man\, 5 Countries\, 16 Cities\, 23 shows\, 6 weeks.\n\nWill he make it home … or is this the end of the road?\n\nOne of the most recognisable figures in British comedy\, John Cleese’s career spans six decades – from his early days with the Cambridge Footlights to co-founding Monty Python\, co-creating Fawlty Towers\, and writing and starring in the Oscar-nominated “A Fish Called Wanda”. His unique brand of black humour has made him a global icon and intergalactic treasure.\n\nAt the age of eighty five\, John Cleese sets off on what might be his final European tour – five countries\, sixteen cities\, twenty-three shows\, and retaining just two original body parts. “John Cleese Packs It In” is a wry\, behind-the-scenes portrait of a comedy legend on the road\, battling various ailments\, chaotic travel\, and his own stubborn refusal to stop.\n\nSpanning six weeks on the road\, the film captures Cleese unfiltered and on the move – riffing on life\, fame\, and the absurdity of getting old in front of thousands of fans.\n\nAs he reflects on a stage career that began in 1963\, the question lingers: is this the end of the road?\n\nWith unique and intimate access and showing unexpected tenderness\, this is a documentary about legacy\, laughter\, and the dignity of bowing out… however reluctantly.

SUMMARY:Ross Noble – Cranium of Curiosities
DESCRIPTION:Roll up\, roll up! Or use a more conventional form of transport to get to the show. It’s entirely your choice. Unless you accidentally become trapped in a barrel*.\nShould that happen\, then just find an incline and start rolling to see the one and only Ross Noble! \nHe is the Wizard of Waffle\, The Rambler Royale\, The Noodlers’ Noodler\, and he’s back live on stage to tour a tornado of tangents. What the show will be about is anybody’s guess\, but that’s all part of the fun when you look inside his Cranium of Curiosities. \n*We strongly advise trying not to get trapped in a barrel before or during the performance. Despite the expression “barrel of laughs\,” it may impede your enjoyment of the show and potentially anger a cooper**. \n**barrel maker. We are fairly certain the mascara mishap music maker Alice Cooper would be fine with it. \n“Thrilling to watch… weepingly funny” – Daily Mail\n“No one does off-the-wall noodling better” – Evening Standard (4 Stars) \nwww.alist.com.au\nwww.rossnoble.com\nRestricted 15+\, no babes in arms permitted
