SUMMARY:Workshop // Connections! Printmaking with Georgina Evans

Connections! invites participants to slow down\, tune into the natural world\, and translate personal experiences of nature into bold\, graphic prints. \nUsing accessible foam board printmaking techniques\, Georgina will guide you through designing\, inking and printing your own unique artwork. No prior experience is needed – just curiosity\, creativity\, and a willingness to explore how you view and feel the environment around you. \nThis workshop is supported by We Are Studios. \nAbout the Artist\nGeorgina Evans is a multi-modal artist\, with an integrated approach to weaving\, textiles\, painting and drawing. A keen observer\, Georgina expresses what she sees and also what she feels\, physically and emotionally through her work. \nShe is influenced by the natural environment and her love of transformation within nature. Through experimental techniques such as eco dying\, reusing and recycling\, Georgina reinterprets her materials\, giving them new life. \nWorking collaboratively as a community based artist\, Georgina shares her creative process within spaces of safety and belonging\, where people can connect through making art together. Georgina is an artist at We Are Studios. \nAbout the Exhibition\nWe Are Studios: Acts of Inheritance\nActs of Inheritance presents new work from seventeen Disabled artists who explore identity as something lived\, layered and continually remade. We come to know ourselves through small\, everyday acts and performances – our own and those of others\, families\, cultures and communities as they leave their mark upon us. \nSome artists revisit family stories or inherited acts; others reflect on Disability\, mental health\, and shifting perceptions of self and how we perform it. Here\, inheritance is not fixed or predetermined\, but enacted through the choices we make\, the stories we tell and the ways we show up for one another. \nThrough these works\, Acts of Inheritance invites us to imagine identity as something performed in ongoing dialogue between who we have been\, who we are becoming and the worlds that shape us. \nWe Are Studios is a 100% Disability-led\, artist-run initiative empowering Disabled Western Sydney artists to thrive. \nArtists: Aili Brenton\, Virginia Bucknell\, Ria Cirera-Cruz\, Taylah Devlin\, Holly-lee Dickson\, Georgina Evans\, Nina Frankie\, Leanne Larwood\, Timothy W. Martin\, Grazia Napoletano\, Adrienne Proud\, Rebecca Sciroli\, Kiri Smith\, Jane Thatcher\, Miah Tito-Barratt\, Jordan Valageorgiou\, Eden Young. \nCurated by We Are Studios Collective. \nThe project is supported by the New South Wales Government through Create NSW and by the Australian Government through Creative Australia\, its principal arts investment and advisory body. \nBanner image courtesy Georgina Evans and We Are Studios.

Performers reinterpret iconic songs and scenes traditionally associated with another gender\, making them entirely their own.\n\nExpect a women-led “Bohemian Rhapsody\,” men tackling “Single Ladies\,” sharp scenes inspired by The Devil Wears Prada\, Mean Girls\, and The Office\, and plenty of surprises. Featuring the fabulous Betty Confetti and Dance Factory performers\, the night blends powerhouse vocals\, big laughs\, and genuine heart.

SUMMARY:Workshop // Experimental Mark Making with Rebecca Sciroli
DESCRIPTION:Saturday 21 February\, 10:30am-12:30pm \n$10 members\, $15 non-members\, ALL AGES\, no experience required\, Bookings essential \nJoin Rebecca Sciroli\, a We Are Studios artist\, for an immersive and playful workshop that invites you to refresh your relationship with artmaking. This experimental session encourages artists to reconnect with joy\, curiosity and process through interactive exploration. Working with recycled\, found and everyday materials\, participants will invent their own drawing and painting tools and experiment with mark making using materials including paint\, ink\, charcoal and pastel. This relaxed and supportive workshop is ideal for artists\, art lovers and anyone interested in experimentation\, play and discovering new techniques to add to their creative toolbox. \nThis workshop is supported by We Are Studios. \nAbout the Artist\nRebecca (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist\, facilitator and advocate. She works primarily in sculpture and installation\, wearables\, performance\, painting and drawing. Rebecca’s work often touches on memory and emotional connection through sensory stimuli\, femininity\, sensuality and empowering feminist work. The fine balance of fragility and resilience is explored through Rebecca’s conceptual and performative practice\, expressed through a sensory connection of energy and touch. Rebecca uses improvised experimental drawing devices (IEDD) for mark making that records her disabled body and how it can move. Rebecca has an ongoing practice of producing self-portraits throughout her recovery from a D.V. assault\, and life in a disabled body. Rebecca is an artist and board member at We Are Studios. Some artists revisit family stories or inherited acts; others reflect on Disability\, mental health\, and shifting perceptions of self and how we perform it. \nBanner image courtesy Rebecca Sciroli and We Are Studios.

SUMMARY:First_Nations_Free_Community_Event
DESCRIPTION:The Bathurst and surrounding community are warmly invited to come together for a relaxed and welcoming day of conversation with NSW integrity agencies that help keep government accountable. \nJoin us for:\n10am – Welcome to country\n1pm – Free BBQ \nMeet friendly staff from key independent oversight bodies\, and have a yarn about what integrity\, transparency and fairness mean to you and your community. This is an opportunity to ask questions\, share your perspectives\, and connect directly with the agencies that work to strengthen trust in public institutions across NSW. \nImportantly\, integrity across government does not happen in isolation. It relies on people – on communities -speaking up. We depend on members of the public to raise concerns\, share information and bring issues forward so they can be examined properly and addressed. Your voice matters. \nWho you’ll meet: \n•	NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) – Investigates and exposes serious corruption in the NSW public sector and works to prevent corruption through education and advice.\n•	Law Enforcement Conduct Commission (LECC) – Oversees and reviews how complaints about NSW Police and the NSW Crime Commission are handled\, and independently monitors critical incident investigations.\n•	NSW Ombudsman – Handles complaints about NSW government agencies and certain community services to ensure people are treated fairly and lawfully. The Ombudsman also administers the Public Interest Disclosures (PID) framework\, which helps protect whistleblowers who report serious wrongdoing from reprisal.\n•	Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) – Deals with complaints about health services and providers in NSW\, helping to protect public health and safety. \nCome along\, grab a bite to eat\, and sit down for a yarn. We are here to listen\, to share information\, and to work alongside community to strengthen accountability across NSW.
