SUMMARY:Bathurst Anzac Day Races
DESCRIPTION:Bathurst’s biggest racing day of the year is our Bathurst RSL Club Soldiers Saddle held on Anzac Day each year. \nGates open from 11am with VIP ticketed areas open from 12pm. \nFashions on the Field is a huge highlight of the day with prize money and gifts all up for grabs with several categories.The Fashions theme is ‘A touch of red’ in line with Anzac Day and the beautiful poppies to represent our fallen soldiers. \nFOTF categories and requirements for Autumn fashions can be found on the club website. \nWe remember those who have fought for our country on Anzac Day with a ceremony and presentation during the day by the Bathurst RSL Club. \n2UP is hosted by the Bathurst RSL Club with buses taking guests to and from town but parking is available.We have several bars open\, many food vans & live music all available to help celebrate a fabulous day of country racing in Bathurst! \nBecome a member of the Bathurst Thoroughbred Club for early access to ticket sales.

Join director Geoffrey Sykes for a film screening about the diversity and function of memorials following WW1.\nBookings are essential: call 6333 6281.\nThis documentary features over 100 memorials – what can be learnt from them about the impact of war on Australian society? How did the country adjust to peace?\nThe documentary includes expert discussion on the role of Charles Bean\, official historian of the war. Expert speakers include Stephen Garton\, Darren Mitchell\, Peter Stanley\, Peter FitzSimons and Kerrie Anne Christian. It was funded by the Anzac Centenary Fund. It was produced and directed by Geoffrey\, who will be available for questions.\nThe work will be available in an edited format. Run time 65 minutes.
