The professional and personal growth she experienced on the frontline\, and the journals she kept during her early years in the field\, were the inspiration for her memoir Frog.\nHer draft manuscript won the narrative non-fiction category in the 2023 ASA/CA Award Mentorship Program.\nWhen she’s not in uniform\, Sally can be found tutoring paramedic students or immersed in her writing. She spends the rest of her days off nurturing herself through running\, bushwalking\, baking\, attending theatre\, and spending time with family and friends. Sally lives in Sydney with her husband and their two children.

On World Peace Day 2025\, we invite you to take the opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, a Peace Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, and meet one of our local carillonists while enjoying the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. After the conclusion of the tour\, enjoy a recital in honour of World Peace Day.  \n\n\n\nSaturday 18 October: This is a rare opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, meet Canberra Senior Carillonist Peter Bray and enjoy the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. After the conclusion of the tour\, enjoy a recital performed by Peter.  \n\n\n\nSaturday 22 November: 22 November is St Cecilia’s Day\, the Patron Saint of Music. We invite you to take this opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, and meet one of our local carillonists while enjoying the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. After the conclusion of the tour\, enjoy a recital in honour of Saint Cecilia.  \n\n\n\nSpecial requirements: tour participants must wear flat shoes\, be able to climb 61 steps in the tower (20 to the landing\, 21 to first floor\, 20 to playing level) and have nothing in their hands to hold onto the handrails.   \n\n\n\nTour duration: 1 – 1.5 hours.

This shift reflects evolving societal attitudes\, but more importantly\, it prompts us to examine how these extra decades are truly being lived.\nIt’s time to discard the outdated notion that women are shelved once they move into older age. Contemporary novels are embracing life\, love\, and sexuality in later years\, proving that aging isn’t about fading away—it’s about soaring.\nAudience questions and comments are welcome to foster discussion and conversation. \nWriting Workshop 5pm – 7pm\, $5pp\nIn our increasingly isolated society\, everyone has a story to tell\, but not everyone has the confidence to share. That’s where Readers Are Writers workshops come in.
