Home to an increasing cohort of contemporary artists seeking connection\, respite and balance\, regional Australia is a place where artists have space to create\, experiment and challenge. DESCRIPTION:22 November is St Cecilia’s Day\, the Patron Saint of Music. We invite you to take this opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, and meet one of our local carillonists while enjoying the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. \nAfter the conclusion of the tour\, enjoy a recital in honour of Saint Cecilia. \nSpecial requirements: tour participants must wear flat shoes\, be able to climb 61 steps in the tower (20 to the landing\, 21 to first floor\, 20 to playing level) and have nothing in their hands to hold onto the handrails. \nTour duration: 1 – 1.5 hours.\n\nBookings through Bathurst Visitor Information Centre on 1800 68 1000.

On World Peace Day 2025\, we invite you to take the opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, a Peace Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, and meet one of our local carillonists while enjoying the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. After the conclusion of the tour\, enjoy a recital in honour of World Peace Day.  \n\n\n\nSaturday 18 October: This is a rare opportunity to learn the fascinating history of the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon\, explore the three floors of the tower\, meet Canberra Senior Carillonist Peter Bray and enjoy the playing of the instrument from within the clavier room. Short demos before many dances\, but nothing beats\, standing up and simply giving it a go\, then having a laugh or giggle at your own attempts\, the way it was done in the old days\, still the cheapest way to learn.
