DESCRIPTION:Explore the use of critical minerals and understand how vital they are to our modern world.\n\nThis exhibition is one-of-a-kind in Australia at the moment\, and focuses on the role of critical minerals in the transition to renewable energy as well as their everyday use in industry and throughout our households.\n\nThe exhibition was prepared in consultation with the Australian Museum and Dr Malte Ebach\, Honorary Associate Professor at UNSW.\n\nThe Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum is open daily 9am-4.30pm\, closed on Wednesdays. Open 7 days a week during NSW school holidays. Closed Christmas Day\, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

SUMMARY:Tracks to Power: Ben Chifley's Political Genesis
DESCRIPTION:To coincide with the 150th anniversary of the railway arriving in Bathurst\, Chifley Home presents Tracks to Power: Ben Chifley’s political genesis. This exhibition looks at Chifley’s work with his union\, and his role as a leader in the community. His later political reputation was built upon his analytical and leadership skills\, alongside his work for his community\, all developed during his time as a locomotive driver. \nChifley’s skills were developed to the point where he felt comfortable realising an early ambition of standing for Parliament. While he sought preselection for a parliamentary seat\, he acted as a witness in industrial arbitration hearings\, a forum where his debating and analytical skills shone. He was also a key figure in the 8 Hour Day campaign\, fought against conscription during the First World War\, and lead his colleagues during the Great Strike of 1917. \nThe exhibition includes text and supporting objects that help explain how Ben Chifley rose to the highest office in the land. Exhibition is free with museum entry.

DESCRIPTION:BX After Dark presents: The Wandering Table | Stories After Dark\, Opening Night. \nAs the city lights glow\, step into Bathurst’s hidden corners\, where laneways and heritage spaces come alive after dark.  \nBe among the first to experience the opening night of the inaugural Wandering Table: Stories After Dark – an immersive dining experience that weaves together exceptional food and wine\, rich storytelling\, and a deep sense of place.  \nDesigned as an intimate experience with strictly limited numbers\, this carefully curated event invites guests to wander through Bathurst’s historic heart\, uncovering the fascinating hidden stories that have shaped one of Australia’s oldest inland cities\, whilst dining in some of Bathurst’s most celebrated and unique bars and restaurants.  \nThe evening begins at Kings Parade with a Welcome to Country\, Smoking Ceremony and Wiradjuri cultural storytelling\, acknowledging the enduring culture and traditions of the Wiradjuri people and setting the tone for an evening of connection\, discovery and celebration.  \nFrom there\, guests will be guided into three intimate groups\, each commencing their journey at a different venue: Norma Joan\, Firewater or The George. Throughout the evening\, each group will experience all three venues\, enjoying one course at each while wandering through Bathurst’s atmospheric streets and hidden laneways. Along the way\, local storytellers will reveal colourful characters\, forgotten moments\, and intriguing chapters from Bathurst’s rich history.  \nEach course is complemented by a premium beverage from local producers\, including Winburndale Wines\, Bathurst Grange Distillery and Renzaglia Wines.
