Rockley Gardens and Art Festival
November 14 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Visit some established gardens such as Janelle and Peter’s garden at Tara, and Tony and Deidre’s garden at Budden’s Guesthouse. Tim and Chris show their established garden along with Tim’s fine art studio/gallery. Other gardens can be described as works in progress because they are relatively new gardens. Kerry and Belle purchased Calais Villa a late Victorian home five years ago and are still reviving the century old garden beds. John and Jude’s garden at the 19th century Presbytery of St. Patrick’s Church, is always described by John as ‘still a work in progress’, whereas it’s one of the best tended gardens in Rockley. Jen and Jaye at the old Wesleyan Chape – now a private residence, describe their garden as a ‘big work in progress’. Sandy and Dave, the newest gardeners live in another of Rockley’s 19th Century properties called ‘Howarth’, which was the Manse to the Wesleyan Chapel and can legitimately say it’s a work in progress.
Bunnamagoo, one of the oldest estates this side of the ranges will open their garden and invite visitors to sample their award-winning wines.
Rockley School are also opening their garden and the school children will be selling take home succulent kits that they have made.
A free bus will leave Bathurst Visitor Information Centre, 1 Kendall Avenue at 9am Saturday and Sunday.
