LINDA CHANT Hold me, cover me
December 12 @ 10:00 am – February 7 @ 5:00 pm
Cowra-based multidisciplinary artist Linda Chant’s work explores the conceptual and material nature of objects. Originally trained in painting and printmaking, Chant recently ventured into sculpture. Her small, delicate sculptures – glasses, bottles, vases and lamps manipulated, shrouded and bound with fabric – offer moments
of curiosity and wonder. Literally and figuratively, they hold a moment, a memory, a thought, an action. They also allude to notions of fragility and protection. Chant explains, “Sewing to surround glass, over and around metal, is a risky procedure which draws parallels to the notion of fragility and protection.”
