Adam Courtenay Author Talk

July 31, 2020 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

For the first time since March, visit the library for an in-person event and meet acclaimed author Adam Courtenay to discuss his latest novel ‘The Ghost & The Bounty Hunter’.

1803: Convict William Buckley escapes into the wilderness of the Kulin nation (now Port Phillip) to take his chances.
He is found by local Aboriginal people who take him in as a Wadawurrung man.
1835: Bounty hunter John Batman arrives seeking to acquire pastureland around the bay.

What happens next ends in betrayal, the theft of Kulin country… and the birth of a city.

The frontier wars had begun.

Adam Courtney is the son of prominent Australian author Bryce Courtenay. Adam is a Sydney-based writer and journalist who has had a career in the UK and Australia. His previous book was ‘The Ship That Never Was’.

Copies of ‘The Ghost & The Bounty Hunter’ can be purchased from Booksplus Bathurst.
