Live cannon fire, a gold miners rebellion, street performers and artisan's markets. Sounds like a riot! Visit Sofala, just a 40 minute drive north of Bathurst for the annual Rebellion on the Turon to  step back in time and witness a reenactment of the 1853 Sofala Rebellion, which tells the true story of an alteration between the red coats and miners over mining licences. Held on Sunday, 15th March 2020 in the main street of Sofala. There are food stalls, music and even a chance to ride the Cobb & Co Coach! A day of fun for the whole family. Be prepared, at any moment bushrangers may stick you up for your gold (coin).
