This place was a thriving gold mining town in the late 1800s, nowadays it’s an eclectic mix of working class folk amongst artists and those still fossicking for their fortune in gold. The historic village of Hill End is the ideal escape for those seeking a relaxed pace and some genuine history. Oh, and don’t forget to meet the locals at the pub for a cold one or two. Hill End is just an hour drive from Bathurst.

Lose yourself in local memorabilia. This impressive and sprawling museum in Hill End is a must visit for those interested in our region’s gold rush history. A seriously impressive collection of artefacts.
Top tip: Head into their underground mine to see how life was back in the days of the gold rush.
Webb & Co. Wine and Cocktail Bar
This is a great place to head for drinks and a bite to eat. The space is eclectic, welcoming and fun. The cocktails are to die for, as is the wine selection. Fun for foodies and those that enjoy a live tune or two.
Top tip: they have a great happy hour - from 5-7pm Monday to Saturday you can get two cocktails for just $22.
