As a demographically young city with the average age being 37 years, Bathurst is home to a large youth population.
The region caters for our Youth through various infrastructures such as over 40 parks, region wide bike tracks, indoor aquatic centre, a five screen cinema complex, diverse sporting facilities and hundreds of special interest clubs, a skatepark and various programs through the Bathurst Library.
Bathurst Youth Council
Established in 1999 the Bathurst Regional Youth Council consists of approximately 20 young people aged between 12 and 24 who meet regularly to discuss youth issues and voice the concerns of young people to Council. The Youth Council has an excellent website which details activities and services for young people ranging from movie details through to mental health contacts available for young people in Bathurst.
