Bathurst wins State Award Bathurst Regional Council has taken out a state wide Indent Super All Ages Crusader (ISAAC) award at the annual Indent Open Day, held on Friday 9 March 2012.
The 2011 ‘Best Safety and Transport' award sponsored by Youth Safe was presented to the Bathurst Regional Youth Council Events Working Party. The award recognises an event that has extensive strategies in place to ensure it is safe, smooth, fun and accessible.
During the 2011 National Youth Week, the Bathurst team implemented a range of security strategies for their event "Dive In" which was a drug and alcohol free event that provided a free shuttle bus service to ensure participants arrived home safely.
"All-age events require a lot of foresight and planning with regard to transport and security strategies - it's often not easy to pull off" says Indent Project Manager, Meg Williams.
"The Bathurst team have set the bar high in 2011" she added.
Bathurst Mayor, Greg Westman commended the Youth Events team on their state wide win.
"It's fantastic to see our Youth Council winning a state wide award against some tough competition - the Dive In event was a huge success and it's great to see the team rewarded for their efforts."
